Instagram is trialing a new feature that permits friends to contribute to your posts. This potential feature will offer users the option to invite their followers to submit their photos and videos for carousel posts. However, the submitted content will not be added directly to the post; users will have the authority to approve each submission before it appears. Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, shared a screenshot displaying the function, highlighting the “add to post” button situated in the lower-left corner of the collaborative carousels.
This new capability could be a convenient way for users to encourage their friends to share collective memories or experiences from events they attended together. The feature presents numerous opportunities for creative prompts, like requesting followers to share their beloved pet images.
Previously, Instagram had already introduced collaborative options that allowed creators to collaborate on feed posts or Reels. Additionally, a collaborative collections feature had been rolled out, enabling the sharing and saving of images with up to 250 individuals. This new trial is another expansion of Instagram’s collaborative tools, fostering social interaction and shared content creation among its users.
