Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM), the longest-running global pro gaming circuit in the world, kicks off Season 12 down under making its debut in Sydney, Australia on May 6-7. IEM Sydney marks the first time that Intel and tournament producer ESL – the world’s largest esports company – have brought the competition to the continent.
The Season 11 finale at the 2017 World Championship in Katowice, Poland broke all records to become the biggest esports event in history, with 173,000 live attendees and 46 million fans tuning into the event broadcast. Moving into Season 12, players, viewers and live audience attendees can expect more world class action and more innovative ways to experience the competition.

IEM Expo: In addition to the esports competition, IEM Sydney will feature three interactive free play zones where attendees can get hands on with the latest Intel technology. This includes a Virtual Reality Showcase that will host competitive VR gaming tournaments featuring “Project Cars” and “The Unspoken” – in addition to other interactive VR games and demos. Attendees will also experience Intel’s suite of gaming products, including the biggest games of the year running on devices powered by 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors. Also on display will be X99 and IEM Certified PCs, as well as computers equipped with Intel® Optane™ technology and Thunderbolt™. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and greet competitive “CS:GO” teams from around the world.
