Virtusa Corporation (NASDAQ: VRTU), a global business consulting and IT outsourcing company that combines innovation, technology leadership and industry solutions to transform the customer experience, is pleased to announce that Darshana Pai, vice president and head of Virtusa’s Hyderabad Delivery Center, has received the prestigious ‘Women Achievers in IT” recognition from INTEROP, a leading global independent technology conference and platform. Darshana Pai received the award in the “Business Leader” category as part of INTEROP’s first-ever recognition of women achievers in India for their outstanding contribution in the field of Information Technology (IT).
The “Women Achievers in IT” awards were announced at the 6th edition of INTEROP Mumbai. INTEROP celebrates the idea of bringing IT communities together providing valuable technology learning and experiences to its audience.
The “Women Achievers in IT” awards recognize women in the IT domain who have demonstrated consistent excellence, leadership and integrity, and are a role model in an industry which otherwise is dominated by males. The awards were presented by F.C. Kohli, the father of the Indian software industry.

At Virtusa, Darshana is responsible for enhancing customer experience through delivery excellence, employee engagement and growth of the Hyderabad Delivery Center. In a career that spans over two decades, Darshana has led large teams delivering multi-million dollar IT solutions to customers in Retail, Finance, Energy & Utilities, Travel & Leisure, Logistics and Government sectors spread across Europe, US, Australia, Singapore and Japan. Darshana is an alumnus of IIT – Mumbai.
Darshana spearheads the Gender Diversity Initiative at Virtusa, providing mentorship and career guidance to fellow women associates. She is also part of the core committee of NASSCOM’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team in Hyderabad.
In the past, Darshana has been honored with the ‘Women Leadership Achievement Award in the IT sector’ by the World Women Leadership Congress and Awards (WWLCA) and ‘Best Woman Corporate Leader’ award by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) for her contributions in promoting Indo-US Trade, Financial Excellence, Corporate Social Responsibility and Development of Human Capital.
