ITVoice News: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), has Introduces its official Android application in Google Play, thereby introducing much easier and quicker way for train reservations. The application has been named as IRCTC Connect and is available for free in Android market.
though the app presently offers only few basic functions, but would gradually make the online bookings much more handy and quick experience for the customers. It allows travelers to search and book Indian rail tickets, check the existing reservations or cancel them and also to get upcoming journey alerts.
As per IRCTC, the app uses similar login credentials as that of the website. If the users don’t have any existing ID, the app would also allow them to create one. It also retains the recently booked train tickets’ details.
While the app will not cater any service between 8AM and 12 noon every day, similar to the other booking third- party apps available in partnership with IRCTC. Amidst these timings, user will have to get the tickets booked via IRCTC website or physical booking counters.
The application supports Android 4.1 and above versions of Android. It is presently available for the download size of 12MB.
