Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday constituted two separate high-level committees headed by the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary to oversee implementation of the Digital India programme.
The State Committee will be headed by the Chief Minister with Deputy Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Minister for Information Technology and Chief Secretary as its members, an official spokesman said.
He said Administrative Secretary of Information Technology Department will be the Member-Convener of the Committee.
The mandate of the State Committee would be to provide overall vision, broad policy direction and guidance for implementation of Digital India programme, the spokesman said.
The Apex Committee would be headed by the Chief Secretary with Financial Commissioner Revenue, Administrative Secretary Planning and Development Department, Administrative Secretary Finance Department, Administrative Secretary GAD and Administrative Secretary IT Department as its members.
Administrative Secretaries of the Departments taking up e-governance projects, State Informatics Officer NIC and Domain or Technical Experts would be the special invitees.
The spokesman said the terms of reference of these committees would be to steer the design, planning and execution of Digital India programme, to provide domain knowledge and arrange resources.
Besides, they will also coordinate with respective stakeholders and state governments for successful implementation of the programme.
The committees will also monitor and review the progress of implementation of the programme and allocate required resources, set priorities amongst the projects and resolve inter-departmental issues.
