Jio 5G support for the POCO F4 is now rolling out with the android 13-based MIUI 14 update

In India, the POCO F4 is now receiving the MIUI 14 update built on Android 13. As verified on Twitter by Himanshu Tandon, POCO India Country Head, this also makes Jio’s 5G network connectivity possible. For the phone, which came out of the box with an outdated version of Android 12, this is the first major update. The company’s top mid-range POCO F4 is available for less than Rs 30,000. The phone has a 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 870 SoC, and 67W rapid charging capability.

The build code for the Android 13 update is V14.0.2.0.TLMINXM, and it is about 3.5GB in size. According to Himanshu, the update will first be made available to beta users in order to gather input. If there are no significant problems, the update will then be made available to everyone in a week.

At 3.5GB, the POCO F4 Android 13 is quite large. Before installing the update, we counsel you to make a backup of all your data and charge your phone to at least 50%. After installing the update, users may encounter performance problems or the device may overheat, according to the changelog. The phone will experience this as it adjusts to the new update and eventually stabilises.

Additionally, POCO notes that users may not be able to completely utilise some third-party apps because they aren’t entirely compatible with the new Android 13 OS. The Android 13 update is expected to bring improvements to settings search, a visual makeover, and privacy-related adjustments. The MIUI 14 update also reduces bloatware and adds more pre-installed applications that can be removed from Xiaomi phones. Large symbols that can be customised are supported as well. A new Photon engine is available that provides greater optimization and more.
