Amazon announced today that they would offer their Prime membership free of cost with Jio Fiber subscription. This scheme is only valid for customers who are having plans better or equal to the Jio Fiber Gold plan. Jio Fiber subscribers will now get one year of Amazon Prime subscription along with other benefits like Prime Music and faster delivery on The Amazon app. The annual subscription of Amazon rime costs about RS 999. But Jio Fibre customers on a gold plan or above will get it for no extra cost. Amazon Prime is also available as an inbuilt app on the Jio set-top box. Amazon Prime boasts of the best Indian shows on its streaming platforms like The Family Man, Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, Four More Shots Please, and many international shows and movies. Subscribers can just log into the myJio app to activate the services or log on into the Prime app using their existing Amazon account or create a new account. This service will not be available to the Jio Fiber Silver and Jio Fibre Bronze subscribers; to activate this service, they will have to recharge with the Gold subscription. The Gold subscription offers up to 1,250GB of data per month with an effective cost of RS. 1,299. During the lockdown, you can also get as much as 1,750GB of data per month because of the double data benefit scheme introduced by Jio during the lockdown. Jio Fibre Titanium plan cost up to RS. 8,499 offering speed of up to 1Gbps and 15000GB of data. All Jio services provide free calling all over India.

All this comes after Amazon recently showed interest in buying stakes in Airtel and helping them in battling against their rival Jio. Airtel has also been offering the same Amazon Prime annual subscription with a plan costing more than RS. 999. The most expensive Airtel plan costs RS.3,999 per month, offering speeds up to 1Gbps along with extra benefits like Amazon Prime subscription and Zee5 premium subscription and the industry-standard free local and STD calls.
