Jivi Mobiles plans to launch CDMA smartphones in the near future.
Jivi Mobiles has announced its first CDMA mobile phone – JV C200. The phone is available for Rs. 1,150.
The JV C200 is powered by a 1000 mAh BL-5C battery, rated to deliver 4.5 hours of talk time. The JV C200 can store up to 1500 contacts in the phonebook, up to 500 SMS messages and supports a 4GB memory card for all MP3 content. Jivi JV C200 supports almost all types of music formats on its big speaker. The phone comes preloaded with games such as Tetris, Boxman and Go Bang!
JV C200 works as a modem too, which users can access by connecting it to the PC via the microUSB port.
“After receiving a phenomenal response for GSM range of phones, it was natural for us to expand our product portfolio to include the CDMA phones. Jivi JV C200 is our first phone in this technology category. We shall soon be launching CDMA/EVDO feature phones and smart phones as well,” says Jitendra Rahi, Executive Director, Conplex International Ltd, Hong Kong.
Jivi Mobiles has also partnered with Reliance Communications to offer bundled plans with the new phone. The operator offers new subscribers 1000 minutes (Reliance to Reliance) talktime free for the first three months. For the existing customers, the operator offers 200 minutes of Reliance to Reliance talk time free and all local and national SMS messages at a subsidized price of 10 paisa per SMS, for the first three months.
