Karbonn is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India, the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus, as it has been listed as available on an online retailer at Rs. 5,749. The phone has not yet been listed on the company’s official site.
The Titanuim S1 Plus is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone that runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It comes with a 4-inch display with a WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution.
A quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) powers the smartphone, clocked at 1.2GHz, and coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Titanium S1 Plus sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.
The handset comes with 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The wireless connectivity options included in the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus are 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS as per Saholic website’s listing.
The Titanium S1 Plus is backed by a 1500mAh battery and comes in Black and White colour variants. The smartphone’s dimensions and weight are not known.
Last month, Karbonn launched three Android smartphones in India, one hexa-core and two octa-core: the Karbonn Titanium Hexa (Rs. 16,990), Titanium Octane (Rs. 14,490), and Titanium Octane Plus (Rs. 17,990). All three smartphones feature dual-SIM support, and run Android 4.4 KitKat.
Finbarr Moynihan, MediaTek’s General Manager of International Sales and Marketing, had at the launch event of the three Karbonn smartphones in New Delhi, said, “The target for our companies is very aligned. A shared mission of ‘Everyday Genius’, and enabling the growth of the ‘super-mid’ market. The shift in the middle class – literally billions of people – is going to be heavily concentrated in Asia. The spending power from 2009 has grown exponentially.”
