The association has announced that Lalani will take over from B. Hari at the AGM meet, which is likely to be held in April later this year.
Lalani will replace B Hari, who has been a founder president of CIITA for last four years. Lalani was unanimously elected two weeks ago and after the AGM , the association will conduct elections for the other office bearers.
Speaking to Channeltimes, outgoing president, Hari said, “We will be looking for a complete change in the team. As I have been heading the association for last four years actively, no it is time for me to hand over the reins to new people.”
Interestingly, the change in guard at CIITA took place just ahead of the Federation of All India IT Associations (FAIITA) meet to be in Bangalore, where the FAIITA will be announcing the new team.
Hari informed, “Three members team from CIITA will attend FAIITA in Bangalore on Feb. 15.”
When asked about the progress being made in online sales issue, he said, “We have observed there is an active awareness among our members and vendors. The issue of predatory pricing is still there, however it is getting controlled slowly with the actions taken by the vendors and dealers unity.”
