Konica Minolta Launches ‘Pravah’ Project to Enhance Water Conservation in Rural Uttar Pradesh with NGO Manav Vikas Sanstha

On July 23, 2024, Konica Minolta, renowned for its digital imaging and document management solutions, inaugurated its CSR initiative, ‘Pravah’, in collaboration with NGO Manav Vikas Sanstha. The project aims to tackle water scarcity by constructing check dams in the villages of Motipur and Gabbapur Kalan in Shravasti district, Uttar Pradesh. These structures are designed to manage rainwater, replenish groundwater, boost soil fertility, and improve local living conditions.

The ‘Pravah’ initiative involves building two check dams to support sustainable water management and align with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including Clean Water & Sanitation and Climate Action. Katsuhisa Asari, Managing Director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, emphasized the project’s role in mitigating climate impacts and empowering local communities. The Sustainability Promotion Department highlighted that the project will benefit 6,868 people by enhancing groundwater levels and creating opportunities for women in organic farming.

Konica Minolta is collaborating with Manav Vikas Sanstha, local communities, and government bodies to ensure the project’s success and create a long-lasting impact through sustainable water resource management.
