Reliance Jio is credited with bringing the internet revolution in India with its dynamic affordable mobiles and data packs. Now the Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance is back once again with a groundbreaking product that will change the face of the Indian computer market forever. After affordable mobiles and data packs that helped millions of Indians to switch from 2G to 4G feature phones, Jio is set to launch affordable laptops in India. The product will not require wifi for connectivity. Instead, it will be equipped with an inbuilt sim card slot for cellular connectivity.
It is speculated that the Jio Laptop will be called JioBook.
Jio Laptop first made news in the year 2018 when Qualcomm declared that it is in communications with Reliance to launch affordable laptops in India. And now it is confirmed that the laptops will be made available prior to Diwali this year.
Keeping aside the ongoing tussle between the dragoon and the New Delhi, Jio has tied up with the Chinese manufacturer Bluebank Communication Technologies. The company specializes in manufacturing mobile devices and software. Chipset manufacturer Qualcomm is also said to be on board with Reliance for manufacturing the Jio Laptop.
Here are some interesting specifications of the Jio Book Laptop:
- Display: 720p HD Display with 1366 by 768 pixels resolution
- Connectivity: 4G LTE connectivity, mini HDMI Connector for video output, dual-band Wifi, Bluetooth, three-axis accelerometer, Qualcomm audio chip
- Pre-installed applications: Jio Store, Jio Meet, Jio Cinema, Jio Saavn, Microsoft Office, Teams, Edge, etc.
- Operating System: Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and Android OS. Additionally.
Initially, the company will launch two models. One with a 2 GB RAM & 32 GB Storage and the other with 4 GB RAM & 64 GB Storage
The company has taken the task to create a laptop well within reach of the general population. But keeping a check on the price is not going to be an easy task.
What will be the price of the Jio Book Laptop?
Reliance is known to launch products for the masses. Therefore, the price of the laptop is speculated to start from Rs.10,000. The price will vary for the different models.
