LastPass is rolling out the latest update of its Android app that will support autofill logins for apps, and for websites on Google Chrome. The mobile variant of the LastPass password manager, with the same name, has been tweaked and is available in the Google Play store. However, this feature is only for devices that run the Android 4.1 or higher versions.
The LastPass app makers claim the app to be fast, easy and simple. It “securely” syncs your passwords in all browsers and Android devices, said the company description in Google’s app market place. “When you launch a mobile app, LastPass can now detect that a username and password field are shown, and hover with a prompt for you to select a matching login. The new functionality eliminates more typing and tapping, making the mobile experience that much more fluid,” said LastPass in a blog post.
The LastPass app’s latest tweak has already begun rolling out. For the automatic password logins fills for apps, the feature can be supported on smart devices that are powered by Android 4.1 or higher. For Chrome, it will only run on smartphones and tablets that run on the Android 4.3 or higher. This app update requires a LastPass premium subscription, as well.
