Legal eagle Shroff to join Paytm board

Pallavi S Shroff , founder and managing partner of law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, will join the board of Paytm’s parent One97 Communications. Shroff’s appointment comes after WhatsApp’s business head Neeraj Arora quit the board of Paytm. Shroff is also the director on the boards of other companies like Maruti Suzuki India, Apollo Tyres and Trident Group, among others.

Paytm’s founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma said Shroff ’s experience will be key to the next phase of growth plans for the company.

In a prepared statement, Shroff said she would help and guide the Noida-based company on matters related to governance law and regulations.
