Lenovo has launched its Phab 2 smartphone in India at Rs 11,999. The big-screen smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting December 9. The device was introduced back in August this year alongside Phab 2 Plus at Lenovo Tech World show. It will be available in Gunmetal Grey and Champagne Gold colour options.
The Lenovo Phab 2 looks similar to the recently-launched Phab 2 Plus. It sports a metal body with a single rear camera at the back. However, there is no fingerprint sensor on the particular model. There are three usual capacitive buttons below the display, a front-facing camera above the display and volume/power buttons on the right side.
Lenovo Phab 2 has a 6.4-inch display, similar to PHAB 2 Plus, however, it has a 720p panel instead of Phab 2 Plus’ 1080p display. The hybrid dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with the company’s own Vibe UI layer running on top.
Under-the-hood, Lenovo Phab 2 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT8783 processor paired with a Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
Internal storage of the device stands at 32GB and can be expanded via microSD cards of up to 128GB in size. The all-new Phab 2 features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies.
Lenovo Phab 2 comes with Dolby 5.1 Audio Capture technology. All major connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS are supported. Measuring 175×88.5×9.6mm and weighing 225 grams, the phablet is backed by a 4,050mAh battery.
The phablet is definitely less powerful than its other siblings, the Phab 2 Plus and the Phab 2 Pro. Lenovo has not yet mentioned the price and availability dates of the Phab2 Pro in India, Lenovo Phab 2 Plus costs Rs 14,999.
