Lenovo Expects 20% to 25 % Server Revenues from Govt.
Lenovo stated that it is expecting around 20 to 25 per cent of its revenue to come from the Indian Government which is primarily due to the Digital India initiative. Lenovo’s current share of revenue from the Indian government stands at 12 to 13 per cent. As per Siddesh Naik, Lenovo’s Director Enterprise Business Group, “As The government has initiated many projects and we are participating in many areas like surveillance and eGovernance. We expect to get about 20-25 per cent of our revenues from the segment in the next three years.” The Director stated that Lenovo is currently part of three pilot projects for surveillance, however, has refused to reveal the name of the cities where these projects are being carried out. Lenovo also launched the ThinkServer series in India. It has launched two models – ThinkServer TS140 and ThinkServer RD450. Mr Naik stated that with this new brand, they plan to add it to their strong portfolio that spans through the overall sever spectrum. This will be from entry level to high-end servers. He also stated that this launch is a move towards Lenovo becoming a market leader in enterprise solutions by 2020.
