Lenovo has launched its latest S-series budget smartphone, the S580, priced at Rs. 8,999. The new Lenovo S580 will be exclusively available via Snapdeal starting Thursday.
The Chinese handset brand touts that the S580 features ‘laser-etched’ rear cover that gives a fabric feel to the handset.
The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean-based Lenovo S580 supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM). The company claims that the handset is upgradeable up to Android 4.4 KitKat.
The Lenovo S850 features a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) processor that’s coupled with 1GB of RAM.
It bears 8GB of built-in storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The S850 sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. The rear camera features scene detection, panorama, geo-tagging, best shot, smile shot, and HDR options.
Connectivity options on the Lenovo S580 include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. It is powered by a 2150mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 14 hours of talk time and up to 444 hours of standby time on 3G network. It will be available in Black, Silver and Gold colours, while will support regular SIM sizes.
Much like other Lenovo handsets, the Lenovo S580 also comes pre-installed with some proprietary DOit apps, such as SECUREit which will help users track, analyse and optimise their data usage; the SHAREit app for fast phone-to-phone data transfer capability without the need for Wi-Fi or mobile network; and SYNCit to let users to have a permanent backup of all their data and whilst making it accessible on any device.
