Lenovo set to unveil its 2018 lineup of ThinkPad laptops
The Consumer Electronics Show 2018 is set to kick start next week. Slated as the biggest technology event of the year, major technology companies showcase their products that they will launch during the year.
Lenovo clearly wants to make a statement of intent and is set to showcase its 2018 lineup of ThinkPad laptops, tablet, monitors and a docking station. The ThinkPad laptop lineup will include the T, X and L series. The ThinkPad series will be powered by 8th generation Intel Core processors and will boast of facial recognition for Windows Hello, Microsoft’s security feature in Windows 10. They will have the universal USB Type-C power adapters and will have a ThinkShutter physical webcam cover for camera security. The ThinkPad X series includes the X280 and X380 Yoga laptops. Both laptops will be available starting January 2018 at $999 and $1,459 respectively. This series is said to be extremely durable and sturdy enough to work in most inhospitable places. The Rapid Charge feature of the series generates 80% juice in 60 minutes that is claimed to last up to 16.6 hours with X280 and up to 13.6 hours for the X380. The X380 Yoga laptop also includes an Active Pen and a IR camera.
The ThinkPad T series is the business series from the Chinese technology company and is aimed for the corporate user and has three models — T480, T480s and the T580. The laptops will also be available starting January and will come at a starting price of $989, $1,269 and $1,079 respectively. The three laptops have a feature of extending the battery life up to 27 hours.
The ThinkPad L series will be available starting February and includes ThinkPad L380 Yoga which comes at a starting price of $549; L380 that has a starting price of $449; L480 that starts at $779 and L580 that starts at $7692. These laptops are available in three screen variant — 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch.
