Lenovo has announced the launch of its new voice-calling tablet in India, named as Lenovo Tab S8, with the price tag of Rs. 16,990. The tablet is now already available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart. The new Lenovo tablet comes with a single SIM and 4G LTE connectivity support, along with the voice calling feature.
While announcing the launch of the device, Rohit Midha, director, tablet business unit, Lenovo India said, “Now, here’s a tablet for users who want to make a bold statement everywhere they go. S8’s user-inspired design and performance is a fine example of Lenovo’s investment in innovation that differentiates our products and sets the standard for quality, reliability, style and speed. S8 Tablet offers double the excitement as it is equipped with Intel Atom as well as launched exclusively on the India’s e-commerce portal, Flipkart.”
The Tab S8 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and is powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor (4 threads, 1.33GHz base clock, up to 1.86GHz). It sports 20.32-cm (8-inch) WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels) IPS display, along with One Glass Solution touch-panel technology and the pixel density of 283ppi. The Tab S8 involves 16GB internal storage space and 2GB of RAM. It packs an 8MP autofocus camera (f/2.2 lens) with an LED flash and BSI 2 sensor, and a secondary camera of 1.6MP.
On connectivity front, Lenovo Tab S8 also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 options. It is backed by a non-removable 4290mAh Li-ion battery, which as per the company is capable of delivering up to 7 hours of usage time and up to 396 hours of standby time. Apart from this, the tablet also supports Dolby Audio powered dual front-facing speakers and as of now is available in Ebony colour option. It measures 209.8×123.8×7.9mm and weighs 299 grams.
