Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Hybrid 2-in-1 laptop available for pre-order; official launch set for August 10

Lenovo has unveiled the ThinkBook Plus Hybrid 2-in-1 laptop, which is now available for pre-sale and is set to officially launch on August 10. This innovative device is designed to elevate the 2-in-1 concept by integrating a built-in Android tablet, providing users with the versatility of both a laptop and a tablet in one machine.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Hybrid features a detachable display that operates as an Android tablet. The display unit houses all the necessary components to function as a standalone Android device, while the base of the laptop contains the hardware for running Windows 11. This dual-functionality allows users to switch seamlessly between a full Windows laptop and an Android tablet, making it a highly flexible tool for both work and play.

In terms of performance, the laptop base is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, supported by 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The base also includes a 75Wh battery with 100W fast charging capabilities. On the other hand, the detachable lid is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5x memory, and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. This setup ensures that both components of the hybrid laptop offer robust performance, whether you’re using it as a tablet or a laptop.

The display is a 14-inch 2.8K OLED panel that covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and supports stylus input, making it ideal for creative tasks. The tablet part features a USB-C port, a 38Wh battery with 50W PD/PPS fast charging, and a camera system with an FHD+ IR infrared camera on the front and a 13MP + 5MP camera setup on the back. The base of the laptop includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack.

A notable feature of this hybrid machine is its synchronization capability. Both the Windows and Android systems are equipped with 10GB of storage specifically for file transfers to a hybrid folder that ensures seamless system synchronization between the two operating environments.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Hybrid is built using CNC-integrated molding technology, which contributes to its sleek design. The entire device weighs 1.75 kg and is 15.9mm thick, while the tablet component alone measures just 6.6mm in thickness and weighs 785 grams. The hybrid laptop is priced at 15,999 Yuan (approximately $2,240), making it a premium option for users seeking high functionality and versatility in their computing devices.
