LG may launch two new smartphones to complement its flagship ‘G’ series and LG Pay, the e-payment service that it recently debuted in its home country of South Korea .
According to a report by ETNews website, the company will soon launch the G6 Plus and G6 Pro smartphones, which will support its LG Pay digital payments service.
The two smartphones are expected to be launched in South Korea on June 27 with major carriers such as SK Telecom, LG Telecom and KTF. While the G6 Pro is expected to cost about 999,800 KRW (roughly Rs 57,000), the G6 Plus may be priced at around 799,800 KRW (roughly Rs 46,000).
Although details are scarce at the moment when it comes to specifications, the report claims that the new LG smartphones could in an ‘Astro Black’ colour variant.
The G6 Plus could feature 128GB of internal storage with wireless charging functionality. The Pro version is expected to have 64GB of internal storage.
LG is said to have already started working on its next flagship, the G7. According to a report by Korea Herald website, the company has collaborated with Qualcomm for the next year’s flagship. This could mean that the smartphone will have the next-generation Snapdragon 845 SoC at launch.
The report further claims that the next-generation processor is about 30% more powerful as compared to the current Snapdragon 835 and will be designed using the 7nm process.
Last month, LG slashed the price of its flagship smartphone G6 in India. Launched at Rs 51,990, the smartphone is now available at Rs 41,990 after a price cut of Rs 10,000.
