LG teases G6 smartphone’s water and dust-resistant capabilities
LG seems to be on a teaser spree for its upcoming flagship smartphone LG G6. In its latest teaser, the company touts the device’s water-and dust-resistant capabilities. ‘Resist more, under pressure. Witness the next generation smartphone, brought to you first by LG. #LGG6,’ reads the text on the teaser image shared. The words ‘resist more’ are said to hint at the smartphone’s water and dust-resistance. Earlier reports too suggested LG G6 to come with IP68 certification. Another report by a Korean website ETNews claims that the upcoming LG G6 will pack a removable 3,200 mAh battery. The report says that the battery is likely to last up to 12 hours on a single charge. According to previous reports, the back panel of LG G6 resembles that of the company’s current flagship G5. It’s seen boasting of a similar camera cut-out and a fingerprint sensor below it. The device is speculated to be slimmer than the G5, which measures 7.7mm in thickness. Rumours also suggest that LG G6 will feature an advanced iris scanner. The G6’s rumoured iris scanner will actually combine the camera sensor with the scanner. This might also be the main USP of the device. Besides the eye scanner, the company is rumoured to launch its mobile payment service LG Pay as well, which will compete against similar offerings from Samsung, Apple and Google. The South Korean giant will unveil LG G6 at on February 26, 2017 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona.
