In honour of Dr. S.R Ranganathan, the father of library science, Dr. RadhaKrishnan State Central Library celebrated the Library Day.
The day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of S.R. Ranganathan, who had spearheaded library development in India.
The Centre has awarded Padmashree to Ranganathan for his valuable contributions to library science.
On the occasion, Smt. Rashmi Gupta, Director Dr. Radha Krishnan State Central Library, said, the movement for library requires further impetus. Shri Aqueel Ahmed, Dy. Dir, RajCOMP, explained about the digital software called e-library.
Explaining the need to develop software he said, ‘ The software has been made keeping in mind the requirements of the readers and the management of the library. The reader can easily search for his desired book.’
