LifeSize Announces Ingram Micro as National Technology Distributor in India

LifeSize, a division of Nasdaq listed Logitech, has announced the appointment of Ingram Micro as its National Technology Distributor for India. Ingram Micro will distribute LifeSize’s high definition (HD) video collaboration products and solutions through its distribution network across the region. The partnership will help LifeSize significantly expand its presence in India, a press release said.

“LifeSize has been witnessing a rapid growth in the adoption of its high definition video collaboration solutions across markets in India,” said Deepak Braganza, country manager for LifeSize India and South Asia. “As one of the world’s largest wholesale technology distributors and a global leader in IT supply-chain, Ingram Micro will help us leverage its extensive reach and strong capabilities to strengthen our presence in India.”

With this partnership, Ingram Micro will create sales and profitability opportunities for LifeSize through its unique marketing programs.

“We are delighted to be associated with LifeSize as a National Technology Distributor for India,” said Jaishankar Krishnan, managing director for Ingram Micro India Limited. “This partnership with LifeSize will help us to grow our product portfolio and tap the growing market for video collaboration solutions in the region.”

LifeSize is bringing in strong leadership in extending open, interoperable video collaboration solutions to anyone, anywhere on nearly any device through its standalone video software clients for PCs, Macs and mobile devices, client/server enterprise video software solutions and service provider offerings.

I can understand Microsoft’s veipwointOne thing that is very frustrating when dealing with disties (for us anyway) is that they don’t quite have the knowledge to appreciate what the solutions do at a lower levelIf we have a query about something (simple example, a query over which SKU we should be ordering) we normally ask the question, the question gets misunderstood, then we get lots of unhelpful answers where we then end up finding out ourselves.We do get this when buying software from other vendors (and also hardware!) but it’s good that Microsoft are pushing from the topIf we keep pushing from the bottom maybe one day it’ll all be much simpler
