A few weeks ago, Meta unveiled its Verified features in certain markets. Today, the company is extending the availability of Meta Verified to additional markets, including India and a few others. Following in the footsteps of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, both belonging to the Meta platform, now introduce paid verified checkmarks.

On Instagram and Facebook, a subscription bundle has been introduced, encompassing a verified badge that verifies accounts with government ID, proactive account protection, and access to account support. But unlike Twitter, Meta is honoring legacy verified badges. In India, those verifying on iOS and Android will pay Rs 699 per month for the same. Users will be able to verify on web too at a later date. With the subscription, users will get the verified badge, proactive protection from impersonation and account support.
Businesses are not eligible for Meta Verified at the moment as social network explores “what a valuable subscription offering for businesses could look like in the future.”
