The Micromax Bolt A40 has been listed on the company’s website. The top Indian manufacturer has launched a host of phones since gaining the top spot in the domestic manufacturers segment. The Micromax Canvas Ego A113 and the Micromax Canvas Fun A63 have both been launched a few weeks ago.
The Micromax Bolt A40 has a 11.4-cm (4.5-inch) TFT display , which supports a screen resolution of 480×854 pixels. It is powered by a 1 Ghz Spreadtrum SC6820 processor along with 512 MB of RAM. What is disappointing though is the fact that the device runs the Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 operating system, which is very old as compared to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above versions that other smartphones in all segments are running.
Further, the smartphone has a 2 mega pixel rear camera and a 0.3 mega pixel front camera. For connectivity, it offers Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, Edge and GPS functionalities. It is also a dual-SIM capable handset. For storage, the phone has a meagre 512 MB of internal storage capacity out of which, 75 MB is reserved for installation of apps. The memory though can be extended to 32 GB using a mico-SD card.
Keeping the specs in mind, the device is expected to be priced below Rs 5,000.
