India’s largest mobile vendor, Micromax has appointed Shubhajit Sen as its chief marketing officer (CMO) to boost its marketing efforts as it looks to further improve its position in the surging smartphone market in the country.
As the CMO, Sen would be leading all marketing efforts for the company across markets while strengthening the overall brand communication. The company said that the move is a reflection of Micromax’s constant effort and commitment to make it a brand to reckon with.
Before Micromax, Sen served as the executive vice president — marketing of Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Health, for 21 years and served as the key resource to accentuate the successful journey of the company.
An economics graduate from SRCC, Delhi University, and an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad, Shubhajit joined GSK in 1992 as a management trainee and advanced through the organization to be the executive vice president — marketing, donning various hats through the journey both nationally and globally.
