iBot enables Azure cloud based monitoring and controls
Luminous Power Technologies (Luminous), a leading home electrical player in India with a vast portfolio comprising power back-up solutions, has announced the launch of its next generation Connected Solar Inverter, powered by the iQu Internet of Things (IOT) platform from iBot Control Systems. Built on Microsoft’s Azure Hyperscale cloud as the engine of intelligence, a set of mobile and web apps would actively monitor power savings, battery health, and also run predictive maintenance enabling greater energy savings.
The iQu IOT platform offers a comprehensive best-of-breed platform for management of connected devices, Apps, Inter-linkages and Data. Using the iQu connected processor designed for high volume and highly distributed IOT deployments, enterprise grade security and in-built cellular connectivity, the connected Solar Inverter will provide real-time access to usage monitoring hence enabling Luminous’ customers to maximize ROI on their investments.
Luminous’ first release of smart and connected products are targeted towards SMBs, individual customers, and small solar power facilities. The solution is designed to scale to 100,000s of Solar Inverters, and the insights generated will help Luminous’ R&D innovate more feature-full products in the future and bring them to customers on an accelerated basis.
“iBot was chosen by Luminous for its ease of integration and ability to drive a faster go to market while rapidly innovating customer and channel facing applications (web/mobile) including analytics,” said Vipul Sabharwal, Managing Director, Luminous.
Ravi Subramanyam, Founder and CEO, iBot Control Systems, said, “It was evident throughout the engineering and development process for Luminous’ new Connected Solar Inverter that our partnership with Luminous and Microsoft has created a new paradigm in intelligent power back-up solutions.”
