Microsoft Reveals Which Phones Will Get Windows 10 First
The much-awaited Windows 10 has just been released for desktops. Almost 14 million people had already installed the new operating system and welcomed it with a smile. Touted to be the last version of the Windows, the Windows 10 comes with a lot of new features. The latest operating system reportedly brought the search button back and replaced the age old Internet Explorer with Microsoft Edge.
Meanwhile, the Redmond giant also introduced the updated Office Mobile Apps for Windows 10 phones and tablets. And now, the tech firm is all set to disclose more about Windows 10 Mobile.
Microsoft has announced that Lumia devices would receive a free upgrade when Windows 10 launches for mobile platform. It further disclosed that Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 would be the first Microsoft phones to get the update. Apparently, all Lumia handsets running Windows Phone 8.1 have been reiterated by Microsoft with Denim update.
Apart from the new browser, Windows 10 Mobile comprises universal apps like Maps, Calendar and Photos. Now with cross-platform integration stretching to Android and iOS, it will also feature Cortana, the virtual assistant.
While you can expect more changes ahead of launch, Lumia 640, Lumia 640XL, Lumia 930, Lumia Icon and Lumia 1520 are some of the other handsets by Microsoft which would be compatible with preview builds.
