Within less than three months after big lay off in company’s history, Microsoft has again announced job cuts. Company had reduced the number of employees by 18,000 in July this year. Most of these 18,000 employees were working in mobile phone manufacturing department which Microsoft acquired from Nokia.
Microsoft has over 120,000 number of employees working as of now. Company will save $1.1 billion by recently announced job cuts. Microsoft spokes person said, “3,000 job cuts that are announced today will cover out global network of business units. We have started the processing the 18,000 job cuts that were announced in July.”
Out of these 3000, 638 employees from company’s business units in state of Washington will lose their jobs. The company has planned to reduce the number of employees by 16 per cent of the size of the company.
