Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) organized a two-day workshop on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd. to provide practical training to students on PLC kits of Mitsubishi and its programming, as a part of Manav Rachna Founder’s day celebration in the campus.
Speaking on the industry collaborations, Dr. M.K. Soni, Executive Director & Dean, Faculty of Engg. & Technology, MRIU, said, “The purpose is to make the aspiring Engineers acquainted with the conceptual as well as practical knowledge of the Industrial Automation & latest technologies being used to achieve Industrial Automation.”
Recent trends in industrial automation and PLC; PLC Inputs/Outputs, Burning and Interfacing Concepts were discussed apart from a hands-on PLC Training Kit. This workshop inculcated the fundamentals of Automation in the students/ faculty and provided them with a platform to work on, in the near future.
Speaking on the industry-academia interface in today’s fast changing world, Mr Vikram Mattoo, Deputy General Manager, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd, said, “Such interface will help students acquire the necessary skill sets to be industry-ready.” Other members of Mr. Vikram Mattoo’s team Mr Devendra Singh (Assistant Manager at Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd) and Ripanjeet Kaur (Application Engineer) also assisted him in provided hands on training to enable students to be well versed in PLC.
The most guiding force behind an automated industrial plant is Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) along with other necessary ingredients like sensors, motors, actuators, conveyers and many more.
