Ms websites of third-party accessory makers have jumped the gun as some of them are showcasing the upcoming Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones on their websites. Recently, a website called Ktronix posted promotional images of the upcoming smartphones set to be unveiled at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain.
The images posted on the website, which were later taken down, shows Moto G5 sporting a 5-inch display and Moto G5 Plus sporting a 5.2-inch screen. Both are supposed to be full-HD resolution displays.
As per the images (shared by @evleaks and Android Police), the smartphones will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, clubbed with 2GB RAM. It will include 32GB inbuilt storage along with the option to include a microSD card (up to 128GB).
The dual-SIM Moto G5 will have a fingerprint sensor at the front, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating and aqua nano-coating body for water (splash) resistance. Also mentioned is that that smartphone will feature a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash alongside a 5MP front-facing camera. It will be backed by a 2800mAh removable battery with fast charging tech.
As for the Moto G5 Plus, the smartphone is expected to will carry an upgraded battery, slightly larger screen, more inbuilt storage and a better processor under-the-hood. The smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch screen with same full-HD resolution, 3000mAh battery with Turbo Charging tech, 64GB expandable storage and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. Rest of the specifications will remain the same as the Moto G5.
The design of the both the handsets are nearly the same and fall in line with the previous leaks.
Motorola will be holding a pre-MWC 2017 event on the same date as Huawei and Nokia – February 26. The invites being sent to media show a generic smartphone along with the date, local time and a ‘Hello Moto’ text caption.
