Lenovo’s Motorola has unveiled its third smartphone under the Moto Z series, the Moto Z Play. The smartphone comes weeks after 
the unveiling of the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force at Lenovo Tech World Show in June. Moto Z Play will hit the shelves globally this month priced at EUR 499, which means roughly around Rs 37,300. The India prices and availability details are not yet known for all the three Moto Z smartphones.
The design of the Moto Z Play is on the same blueprint that Motorola used for the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. However, the only difference here is that the back panel is made out of glass instead of metal. The device is also water resistant as it comes with water-repellent nano-coating.
As a surprise move, Motorola has brought back the 3.5mm headphone jack with the Moto Z Play. For those unaware, the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force came without a 3.5mm headphone jack and instead feature USB Type-C connectors for those who wanted to listen music. The Moto Z Play also has a fingerprint sensor. It supports Moto Mods accessories as well that were introduced in June alongside the Moto Z handsets.
for the specifications, the Moto Z Play runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution Super Amoled display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB RAM. Besides 32GB of inbuilt storage, the handset includes the usual connectivity features and has a battery backup of 3,510mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 50 hours of use on a single charge. In addition, the device supports Turbopower charging as well. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
Motorola is about to launch its Moto G4 Play smartphone in India. The company launched the handset outside India in May this year.
Motorola, besides the Moto Z Play, also launched a new Moto Mod to enhance the camera experience of a user. The new Hasselblad True Zoom mod features 10x Optical Zoom with Xenon flash, ability to shoot in RAW format, physical shutter and zoom controls. It also lets users edit images in Hasselblad’s Phocus software inside the handset. In addition, users will also be receiving free unlimited storage in Google Photos to store original quality images for two years. The mod will be available globally starting in September at around EUR 299, which is roughly Rs 22,300.
