Lenovo-owned Motorola started rolling out Android Nougat update for its Moto Z smartphone back in November last year. Now it seems that the company is working on another (incremental) update for the handset, as a Moto Z smartphone running Android 7.1.1 version has been spotted on GFXBench benchmarking website. Currently, there is no information as to when exactly the update will be rolled out.
Earlier this week, Motorola started rolling out Android Nougat update for its Moto Z Play smartphone in India. The update, bearing version identifier NPN25.137-15-2, is being rolled out in a phased manner, so it may take a while before it reaches all Moto Z Play smartphones in the country. Android 7.0 Nougat is claimed to improve the overall smartphone experience significantly. It introduces enhanced multitasking features and better notification controls. The update also brings with improved data saving and battery conservation features.
Some of the productivity-centric features that Android 7.0 Nougat will introduce to Moto Z Play include quick switching between apps, multi-window and work mode (for users of Android for Work). For performance, Android 7.0 Nougat includes features such as data saver, Doze on the go and more. Other significant additions include custom quick settings, improved navigation, suggested settings, improved system backups and new emojis.
