Only 16GB version of Moto G is available in India  as of now. The stock of 8GB alternative is out of  stock since July. Motorola had slashed down the  price of Moto G by Rs 2,000 in July on Flipkart. Chances are, even 16GB variant of Moto G will go out of stock any time soon. Moto G was the top selling device on Flipkart. The phone was sold like crazy on e-commerce site.

As Flipkart is the only seller of Moto G in the country, if the stock ends on Flipkart, it means the end of Moto G in India. Flipkart has posted a banner on the website that says, get your Moto G before it ends. It clearly indicates that Moto G might run out of the market anytime soon.

Moto G certainly changed the smartphone market in India for ever. The smartphone was launched in budget price range but yet it has top notch display, performance, decent battery and the latest Android KitKat. The phone was launched for Rs. 12,499. The only downside of the phone was its low resolution camera and no option for expanding memory.

The company successfully occupied the smartphone market below Rs 15,000 range. This budget range of smartphone was ruled by Indian brands like Lava, Karbonn and Micromax before Moto G’s entry. The demand for the phone has been so high ever since its launch that, the company had difficulty in providing the ample stock to Flipkart.

Over one million units of Moto G and Moto E were sold in hardly 5 months after Motorola launched the product. Lately, two competitor companies, Xiaomi and Asus came up with competing product for Moto G. The Xiaomi Mi 3 was a hot selling cake for long time in India. The Mi 3 offers top notch hardware in Rs 13,000 while Asus Zenfone 5 sports bigger display, better camera and microSD card support as compared to Moto G, and all of this in same price range.

Motorola is rumoured to be working on successor of Moto G, the company has called an event in New Delhi on September 5. Motorola might announce Moto G2 at this event, G2 is rumored to sport 12.7-cm (5-inch) display and 8MP of camera, while the processor and RAM is supposed to be same as Moto G. Motorola may also launch Moto 360 smartwatch and Moto X successor at this event in New Delhi.
