The National Association for Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) has predicted that the IT industry would hire around 2.75 lakhs people.he outlook in the IT industry is comparatively better than what was indicated earlier. The industry is projected to add $20 billion over last year’s $148 billion, the industry grew by $16 billion in the previous year. Nasscom is expecting a growth rate of 12-13 per cent on a solid and positive outlook for the year. NASSCOM Chairman B V R Mohan Reddy said the country had the demographic dividend of having a young population, it needed to find meaningful livelihood opportunities for 10 million jobs every year for people above 18 years of age. “It is not large companies that provide large number of new jobs. Small firms create 60 per cent of new jobs. It is imperative for us to encourage entrepreneurship in order to have more jobs,” Mohan Reddy, who is also the Executive Chairman of Cyient Limited, said.
