New Veritas-A channel-friendly and profitable company

Now an independent entity Veritas, as it recently split from Symantec, has successfully concluded its Asia-Pacific Partner Link Conference – 2015 in Macau.
The information management solutions company and major backup solution leader, Veritas has announced the winners of the 2015 Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) Partner Awards at its event. It is to honour top performing partners who have demonstrated dedication to achieving strong business growth and positively contributing to their customers, the partner community and Veritas.
Addressing the company as a $2.6-billion start-up, George Wong, Channel Leader for Asia- Pacific and Japan, Veritas, said, “Veritas is a financially strong and a profitable company. It is focussing a strong market of $15 billion where the data growing at a speed of 44 Zetabyte and the market at a rate of 9%. The company is among the leading players in the market because of its strong product portfolio, of which 80% products are growing rapidly.”
In today’s business, data plays the most critical part in any decision-making, but unstructured data rate is growing faster than structured data. As per the company information, only 1.5% of zetabyte of data backed up today is actually actionable information. Many a time, companies do not know about the owner of the data after backing it up over various hybrid clouds. It results in data fragmentation. It is a challenge for Veritas to make the companies use its storage management technologies as they move more of their data to the cloud.
Veritas is a 100% channel -focussed company. The partners are divided into two categories – Platinum and Gold. It has 27 Platinum and 73 Gold Partner in the APJ region. 96.5% of the company’s revenue comes from these partners and 4.5% of the total revenue is invested in innovation of products.

Talking about the Indian market, Balaji Rao, Managing Director, India & SAARC, said, “India is an exciting market. The new Veritas is a channel-friendly and profitable company. The key verticals of the company in India are BFSI and Telecom.”
The company has 38 Partners and two Distributors – Redigton and Ingram Micro in India.
It has also started a 7-city enablement program in India focussed on the start-ups. The program will run in Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
