Next bit has started rolling out the beta version of Android 7.0 Nougat to its Robin smartphone. In an official blog post, the company announced that the update is available for registered Next bit community users. Next bit has tied up with Paranoid Android, an open-source Android developer community for the beta OS’ release.

Next bit’s chief technology officer Mike Chan said in the blog post, “They [Paranoid Android] are a talented group of developers and we’re excited to be working with them to make sure Robin runs even better whether you’re running Next bit OS or Paranoid Android.”
For those unaware, Next bit Robin comes with a ‘Smart Storage’ feature which enables the device to free up space by routinely backing up apps and photos to the cloud, as well as by archiving least-used apps in case the space runs out. Robin leaves thumbnails of all the archived content, making it easy for users to restore them with just a tap.
As for the hardware specifications, Next bit Robin sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display of 1080×1920 pixel resolution. Its display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
Next bit Robin is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB internal storage and 100 GB of additional cloud-based storage. There’s a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash at the back, along with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. The phone has a 2,680m Ah battery with Quick Charge support.
