Next-generation Apple Watch to launch in Q3 2017: Report

The next-generation Apple Watch could launch later this year, if a new report is to be believed.
According to the report by DigiTimes website, the upcoming Apple Watch Series 3 (if that turns out to be the name) will be unveiled in the third quarter of 2017. Rumours claim that the wearable will be powered by a faster processor and have better battery life, as compared to the current Apple Watch Series 2.
The report further suggests that Apple Watch Series 3 may have cellular connectivity. Addition of cellular connectivity means Apple Watch users won’t need to pair their iPhones for making calls. They can go for separate carrier plans as well.
Apple recently introduced a fresh line-up of bands for its Apple Watch. The new collection includes a wide stripe Woven Nylon band, standalone Nike Sport Bands and Hermes fashion bands with new colours. The bands are available on select Apple Stores and Apple authorized resellers.
The new collection of bands include Sport in Pebble, Azure and Camellia, Woven Nylon in Berry, Tahoe Blue, Orange, Red, Pollen and Midnight Blue and Classic Buckle with new buckle design in Sapphire, Berry and Taupe options.
The Apple Watch is available in two different case sizes – 38mm and 42mm. Apple Watch Series 1 is available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver or Space Gray aluminium cases paired with a Sport Band and starts at $269, while the Apple Watch Series 2 is available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, or Space Black stainless steel cases paired with a wide variety of bands starting at $369. The ceramic Apple Watch Edition starts at $1249.
