ICT experts presented a wide array of technology trends, best practices & infrastructure solutions
BICSI, the premier association supporting advancements in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), 
concluded the BICSI India District Conference 2016. The conference attracted over 400 attendees from the ICT industry and showcased latest advancements in ICT, captivating insights on a wide array of technology perspectives, standards, ICT skill development, trends and best practices in design & installation along with opportunities in the IT infrastructure industry. The 2016 BICSI cabling skills challenge was also held concurrently.
The conference opened with a welcome speech by Mr. Ketan Kothari, District Chair, BICSI India, as he highlighted BICSIs role in bringing together ICT innovators and forward thinkers, discuss & debate latest cutting edge technologies. Mr. Kothari presented a holistic perspective of BICSI and how it has served as an esteemed platform to nurture ICT skill, networking, learning & innovation and further highlighted BICSI India’s successful engagement with Bureau of Indian Standards and Telecom Sector Skills council to foster growth and advancement of the ICT industry.
BICSI President, Mr. Brian Ensign, RCDD, RTPM, NTS, OSP, CSI, commenced the conference, with an inaugural address, placing emphasis on quality education & training to ICT industry professionals and highlighting key challenges in all the areas of ICT Infrastructure. Following the opening remarks, Mr. Paul Weintraub, RCDD, RTPM, ESS, Director of Global Development & Support, BICSI, in his keynote address delivered exceptional thoughts on changing technology dynamics and BICSI’s strategic programs to empower ICT experts.
A list of eminent speakers graced the conclave by their presence and the conference session continued with a series of informative presentations. Present at the occasion, Mr. Kiran Katariya, RCDD, TE Connectivity, shared interesting insights on Internet of Things and how it offers great opportunity for new technology companies to engage in highly automated solutions, and help streamline processes, while highlighting its capability and utility in the Indian ICT space.
This was further followed by an expert speak, as Mr. Christian Schillab of Fluke Networks, illustrated on latest developments in field testing and Mr. Ratnesh Javeri, CTS-D, Member-Board of directors, InfoComm, showcased new standards to harmonize cable labelling practices.
Highlighting key developments in structured cabling, Mr. Rajesh Shenoy, Business Director for Enterprise and Broadcast solution, Belden Asia Pacific, enlightened the audience with current trends and developments in copper cabling whereas Mr. Ashok Srinivasan, RCDD, Director- Technical sales, India & SAARC, CommScope, focused on converged networking architecture and ICT standards.
Technical presentations were also delivered by OBO-Bettermann and Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI) apart from ICT IQ quiz conducted by Mr. Ninad Desai, RCDD, NTS, Secretary, BICSI India District.
