The company said that the update for Nokia 7 weighs 788MB in size and brings all the Android Oreo features to the smartphone. The Nokia 7 will now get Oreo features like Picture-in-Picture (PIP), Background limits, notification channels, Wide-gamut colour, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation and more.
The update also adds features like virtual gesture navigation bar operation, double tap to wake and improved systems app.
Earlier this month, HMD Global launched its Nokia 6 (2018) smartphone at an event in China. The smartphone flaunts the same design as the earlier launched Nokia 6. While the 2017 model has a fingerprint sensor placed below the display at the front, the 2018 model has it at the back below the elongated capsule enclosure that includes a single rear camera and flash.
The Nokia 6 (2018) runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and comes with dual SIM card support. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone offers 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB by adding microSD card.
The device comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. There is a 16MP rear autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash in addition to an 8MP front-facing camera with same aperture and 84-degree wide angle lens. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery and can support fast charging tech, which is claimed to deliver up to 50% charge in 30 minutes.
