Unhappy with the response from Microsoft-acquired mobile player Nokia regarding controlling the online prices, the two mobile associations in Hyderabad have decided to ban the products in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
in recent times, a meeting was organized between leading mobile vendors and associations like TCMRA (Twin City Mobile Retailers Association) and TCA (Telugu Cellular Association) against the online business and modern trade.
After receiving negative response from the Nokia representatives, the associations have decided to boycott the sale of Nokia products in the state. According to the associations they were disappointed by the company’s response as the partners had played a crucial role over the past 15 years to make the brand No. 1, at a time when there was no ecommerce player.
It is also understood that all the members of the associations have decided not to support Nokia and not to sell the brand in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Sources also revealed that more than 100 dealers have already removed Nokia products from their showrooms and have approached the distributors to collect the stocks.
