Google is celebrating the successful launch of its own smartphones and as a next step., the company is now working on their own 
smartwatches as well. According to the reports publishes by Android police, the search giant is planning to bring two new smartwatches. The report claims both the smartatches will have a round display with the codenames Swordfish and Anglefish respectively as per google’s tendency to give fish names to the projects under development.
Swordfish is a small variant with a 42 mm screen. It is being expected that it will have a Pebble round like design with hints of Apple watch. It won’t have Google’s quick interchangeable band mode. The watch would be pretty slim at 10.6 mm. It will be running Android wear 2.0 with Google assistant integration. But this model won’t have any GPS or LTE capabilities. It might not even have a heart rate sensor.
Angelfish, on the other hand, is a bigger and a premium version of both the ‘Google Watches’. It will have a more premium design like Moto 360 with visible lugs and interchangeable bands. This variant will support LTE and GPS which would be great for runners and fitness enthusiasts. Angelfish will have a premium finish called “Titanium” plus a host button on the right side of the watch. The smartwatch will further have built-in heart rate sensor. The display will be slightly bigger than the standard 42 mm display at 43.5 mm. This watch will also run Android wear 2.0 with Google assistant built in.
It was 2014 when Google had announced Android wear. At the same time they partnered the leading mobile manufacturers Samsung, LG and Motorola in production of smartwatches. Within a short period of time many new players like Huawei, Asus and Alcatel also joined the race. But, now Google has shown its intention to get more control on the smartwatch software.
Recently, Sunder Pichai, CEO Google said that Google wants more control over the design process of the smartphone. He also added that their smart technology will receive more execusive features in the future.
