Much speculation has been prevalent in media over the next Nexus, and the recent reports make a pretty strong claim too. IHS Technology, a market research firm, has reportedly informed a technology website that Google is working on a “high-performance” tablet with a display-screen size offering of 22-.6-cm (8.9-inch). It may cost a little above $299.
According to CNET, Rhoda Alexander, director of tablet and monitor research at IHS said that the new Nexus tablet will be a “lower volume product and carry a premium price tag.” Furthermore, Alexander also added, “We still expecting to see a third generation of the Nexus 7 product at some point in 2014, but do not have any confirmations of actual contracts for such a product at present.”
The 22.6-cm tablet is likely to go in to mass production by either July or August, therefore, it will be launched by the end of 2014. It is most likely that Google has partnered with HTC to manufacture the next Nexus slate.
Moreover, another website Digitimes also made similar claims, It added that this Google Nexus tablet will feature a “display resolution of more than 2K (2560 x 1440p)” and that the company “is starting to shift its focus to large-size tablet applications.” The Nexus 7, 2014 model, comes with a display resolution of 1920x1080p. It has been six months, since speculations first surfaced about Google launching its first 20.3-cm (8-inch) tablet in 2014. And, we are soon to see the end of this fiscal, marking even more anticipations with the I/O Conference happening soon.
