Nvidia is a Santa Clara-based company that has said that the company will spend forty million pounds on the supercomputers which are dubbed as Cambridge-1.
This statement has come after the firm has said in September that it has agreed to purchase a UK-based chip designer i.e. Arm Holdings for an amount up to forty billion dollars.
The Graphics chip-making company Nvidia has declared that the company is planning to create the United kingdom’s fastest supercomputer that the healthcare researchers can use to work on medical problems that also include the coronavirus outbreak.
There will be 80 systems from Nvidia which is to be available online by the end of 2020.
The Chief Executive Officer of Nvidia has said that Cambridge-1 will be accessible to all the healthcare researchers who can use artificial intelligence to work on immediate or urgent medical trials.
The CEO has also said that to tackle a worldwide problem requires a massive and powerful computing resource to utilize the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence.
Also, the company has stated that the debuted supercomputer, Cambridge-1 will be ranked as the world’s 29th most powerful supercomputer and the most powerful in the United Kingdom.
The well-known pharmaceutical companies such as GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca are among the groups that have by now registered to use the supercomputer.
