Some time earlier we had reported about NVIDIA’s gaming console, Shield. The time has come when the company will finally start shipping its portable gaming console. Reportedly, the device will start shipping from 31 July, in contrast to the previously announced 27 June. It is being said that the delay took place due to some mechanical issue that was discovered later.
The company announced through its newsletter on the official page that now it has fixed all the issues and the pre-orders will be catered to first from next Wednesday. It wrote, “We want to thank you for your patience and for sticking with us through the shipment delay of your SHIELD. We have great news to share with you – your SHIELD will ship on July 31st.”
Coming to the specifications, NVIDIA Shield comes with Tegra 4 processor at the core, micro SD card slot, HDMI out, USB port, and a 12.7-cm (5-inch) 1280x720p display. Additionally, it has dual control sticks, a D-pad, and multiple action buttons. The company even offered a pre-release price cut last month, making it a $299 device!
