Ola made an announcement That it signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This was done in the presence of the UP Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav. The MoU states that Ola will be working with the state government for skill development of youth in Uttar Pradesh and offer entrepreneurship options to 50,000 men and women over the span of the next five years.
Ola is also going to work with the UP government for the introduction of innovative as well as customised mobility solutions including Ola Auto, Ola Share and Ola Shuttle throughout the state in the coming months. Ola is aiming to serve people across Uttar Pradesh by providing them immediate access to reliable as well as convenient mobility.
Presently, Uttar Pradesh has more than 10 Smart Cities under the aegis of the Smart Cities project. The early adoption of technology enabled mobility solutions led by Ola is going to go a long way in enabling seamless urban transportation in the state.
As per Pranay Jivrajka, chief operating officer at Ola, “We are proud to partner with the Uttar Pradesh Government. We aim to create more than 50,000 employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the state by investing in skill development of youth. We are bullish about Uttar Pradesh and will work with the state towards further improving access to mobility in its cities by bringing on-board innovative transportation use cases like Ola Auto, Ola Share, Ola Shuttle and more to complement the existing transportation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.”
After the youths are trained, they will benefit from Ola’s technology platform. As driver partners working with Ola throughout India have seen their incomes grow by 40 per cent. Also, over 70 per cent of the drivers working with Ola are entrepreneurs themselves.
