OnePlus 5T Sandstone White Limited Edition launched: Price, specs and more
OnePlus, for the first time in two years has launched a ‘Sandstone’ version of one of its smartphones. After OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 in 2014 and 2015, the company has now launched the OnePlus 5T White Sandstone smartphone. This is the first time the firm has introduced a Sandstone version in White colour.
The smartphone has not been launched in India yet. Users in the US and Europe will be getting their hands on the device starting January 9. It is priced at $559 (roughly Rs 35,500).
We got an early glimpse at the OnePlus 5T White Sandstone Limited Edition model as it got listed on one of the e-commerce websites few hours before the launch. As we mentioned before, if you are familiar with the handset’s Star Wars Edition, the White Sandstone version won’t be something new for you. The smartphone looks exactly like the Star Wars Edition, with a white back panel and red alert slider. The only difference in looks is that the White Sandstone version ditches the Darth Vader logo at the back. That said, OnePlus adds it is the first time it has applied a Sandstone feel to a metal chassis.
“A brilliant marriage of nostalgia and expert craftsmanship, the OnePlus 5T Sandstone White unites the iconic sensation of OnePlus Sandstone with a sleek all-aluminium shell. Slowly perfected using over 100 prototypes, this is the first time we managed to apply our classic Sandstone feel to a metal chassis. It takes 4 layers to create a body with a comfortable grip and a natural, minimalistic appearance,” says the forum post. The company has also explained the process used to make the limited edition device in the same post. As for the specifications, the OnePlus 5T White Sandstone variant comes only in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Rest of them stay the same as the regular version. Some of the key specifications of the handset include 6.01-inch AMOLED full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, dual-camera setup with a 16-megapixel IMX398 sensor and a 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor, front-facing 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor and 3300mAh battery.
