The 2 smartphones are going to receive the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update which is incremental in nature and it will be reaching a small user’s percentage on 10th October. After it has been ensured that there are no critical bugs then updates will be added. The Android 11 update will also be released for older phones such as one plus 7T and 7T Pro, 7 and 7 Pro, 6T and 6, and Nord in the future.
The firm has taken to its forums to proclaim that 8 and 8 Pro are now receiving the new updates. The company has noted that its users must make sure the battery level of the smartphones is above 30% and has a minimum storage space of 3GB. It should be available before installing the update.
The tech giant, Google had long-established in September that one plus smartphones’ users will get the update in the coming months, and that promise has been kept by the company. If the users use 8 or 8 Pro, then people can check for the updates themselves by going to the settings. They will get an update notification for the same when it arrives on the user’s handset. The update is going to have a size of 2.8GB.

The changelog includes a fresh new User Interface with system optimizations and a new weather User Interface too. The update has also optimized Sed stability on 3rd party applications and enhanced overall experience. There is the latest gaming tools box in OxygenOS 11 for easy and smooth switches of Fnatic mode. In-Game Space, users can now select 3 ways of notifications i.e. text-only, heads up & block.
The 8 and 8 Pro has a new quick reply feature for Instagram as well as WhatsApp notifications in gaming mode. There is also the latest addition called the mis-touch prevention feature which has been added inside Game Space too. The latest update brings a new display known as Always-on ambient function where the custom Schedule/All day option is also included. A novel Insight clock style along with ten other new clock styles has also been added to OxygenOS 11.
Furthermore, there is an addition of a shortcut named Dark Mode plus the ability to automatically permit from sunset to sunrise. The new update brings the latest themes and the latest Group feature available in Zen Mode. The Gallery application gets a new Story function in OxygenOS 11 that permits for automatic forming of weekly videos with pictures and videos in storage.
