OnePlus has formed a strategic partnership with Reliance-owned JioMart Digital to enhance its offline retail presence in India. This collaboration aims to expand the availability of OnePlus products across more than 2,000 cities and towns in the country. The partnership will facilitate the sale of OnePlus smartphones, earbuds, wearables, and other devices through JioMart Digital’s extensive distribution network, which includes over 63,000 retail stores.
This move comes as OnePlus faces challenges from several retail chains that threatened to stop selling its products. These retailers, represented by the All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA) and the South Indian Organized Retailers Association (ORA), cited issues such as low profit margins and delays in warranty claim processing. In response, OnePlus has been working with its retail partners to resolve these concerns.
Ranjeet Singh, Director of Sales at OnePlus, expressed optimism about the partnership with JioMart Digital. He highlighted that this collaboration would make OnePlus products more accessible, especially in tier 3 and tier 4 cities. Singh noted that consumers would benefit from a more personalized experience by being able to access OnePlus devices at their nearest retail outlets. He stated, “As we continue to extend our range of OnePlus products across the Jio Mart Digital store network, we are positive that our community and consumers at large will continue to truly benefit from this opportunity.”
OnePlus devices are already available for online purchase through the JioMart store. The expanded offline presence aims to cater to a broader audience, ensuring that more consumers can experience and purchase OnePlus products conveniently. This initiative aligns with OnePlus’s goal to strengthen its market position in India and address the demands of its customer base.
The timing of this partnership is significant, as it follows the recent launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 4. The new device is available at a starting price of Rs. 24,999 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. By increasing its retail footprint, OnePlus hopes to boost the sales of the Nord CE 4 and other products.
In summary, OnePlus’s collaboration with JioMart Digital marks a strategic effort to expand its offline retail network across India. By addressing retailer concerns and improving product accessibility, OnePlus aims to enhance its market presence and provide a better customer experience. The partnership is expected to drive sales and support the brand’s growth in the Indian market.
